Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information created when you use the service, and limited technical information needed to keep FindMates reliable and secure.
- Account details such as username, email address, password hash, profile type, verification state, and account settings.
- Profile information such as avatar, banner, bio, birthday, gender, language, location, social links, gaming preferences, and privacy settings.
- Game-related information such as selected games, genres, platform profiles, in-game names, game-player listings, roles, play style, microphone preference, and game statistics shown on your profile.
- Connected account information from services you choose to link, such as Discord, Steam, OpenDota, or other game and platform providers.
- Communication data such as chat messages, uploaded chat media, friendship requests, blocks, reports, and moderation records.
- Billing and FMP state needed to provide paid or promotional features. Payment details may be processed by payment providers and are not intended to be stored by FindMates directly.
- Technical data such as IP address, device and browser information, session activity, logs, error traces, security events, and approximate interaction timestamps.
How We Use Information
- Create, secure, and maintain your account.
- Operate social, friendship, chat, matchmaking, game-player, and profile features.
- Sync game statistics and connected platform data when you authorize integrations.
- Provide FMP features, billing state, account safety, fraud prevention, and moderation.
- Improve FindMates through product analytics, diagnostics, reliability monitoring, and performance measurement.
- Show advertising or sponsored placements when advertising features are enabled.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

- Contract: to provide FindMates features you request, including accounts, profiles, chat, game listings, integrations, and FMP features.

We use or may use trusted third-party providers to operate FindMates. These providers process data only for the purposes needed to deliver their services to us.
- Google Analytics 4 may be used to understand product usage, traffic, and performance.

- Discord, Steam, OpenDota, and similar providers may be used when you connect accounts or request game-stat synchronization.

Retention
We keep personal data for as long as needed to provide FindMates, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms. Some data may be removed sooner when you delete it, unlink an integration, or close your account. Backups and security logs may remain for a limited period before deletion.
Security and Transfers
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Some providers may process data outside your country. Where GDPR applies, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, export, object to processing, or withdraw consent for certain uses of your data. You can also manage profile content, privacy settings, integrations, blocks, and connected accounts through FindMates features where available.
